no the temp does not redline at all. goes right before the white line then stops. Ok this is what it does it will try and get hot when the car is going in first gear about 3000rpms then when i shift it goes back down to normal again then when i stop at stop signs it sits at normal temp. I dont get it. I checked all the stuff. coolant and stuff. But i was thinking it might be the water pump but i dont know how to see if it is or not.

Check if ur fans are going on too late it might be the fan sensor.

ok Well the cooling fans are not kicking on but would that make the car do that when i step on the gas like that. I want to know if its my water pump or not. If so then i will fix it next week just would like to know before i start messing with all that.

put a new fanswitch sensor in first i would say do the water pump anyway its only like a 40 dollar part

The fan switch is a green plug and its somewhere near the distributor I'll see if I snap a pic later I'm actually picking up the same plug today mine snapped off for some reason so I just joined the 2 wires for now so my fans are always on

first before fooling with the w/p try swaping the thermostat. i did it and mine red lined or got close to it before i changed over my t stat, so yeah id go for the cheapest way first then work my way from there.
