I took my belt off cause my pump was whining like crazy and honestly , I dont like it and ive got plenty of arm strength I just dont see a point on fighting with the damn thing in situations at gas stations and city parking , I dont do it much but still it snowed tonight and it was nice to be able to turn the wheel ... dont get me wrong I love the look of the engine bay without that pump but its just not worth it to worry about the rack going out and to sit there and for some reason I have to swerve in traffic its not as responsive and I have my kid in the car alot sooo for me im getting a new pump and keeping the P/S , I mean whats 1hp if that you lose running a P/S pump ...lol

    just my .02 ...

the pump doesn't weight that much so I guess you could just take the belt off...still got fluid in there that way. Until you figure the lines out that is...eh just an idea

I wish cpmike would do a diy like how he did his. I need pic's lol.. There are a few ways to loop it from my understanding. But some are better than others. I'm looking to do the loop with removing most the ps parts and having a breather up top to relieve the pressure build up thus making it easy to turn the wheel even at low speed. Like they did it here. http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=184202&page=1

for the 3 smaller fittings, separate and cut the line to get the fitting off h7 itself, and plug it with JB weld, and reinstall it. the fourth larger line should actually be pretty short and end somewhere along the back of the engine bay, you could hook it up with a hose to a p/s fluid reservoir, or just pour fluid into it and leave it as a breather...

then just remove all the lines that you can manage to reach...

for the VSS itself, i usually just loop a single hose between the two fittings.

somebody posted a DIY on this didnt they? on plugging the fittings? possibly wed3k...

my p/s isnt totally looped, the lines are just severely shortened and rerouted... i have them looped together bypassing where the pump would normally be.

Ok so what you did is simply take the 3 small lines facing us and plug them. And use the large one as a filler/breather? How much fluid did you leave in the rack Mike?

Our CB7 accords have 4 lines in my pic below could somebody show me which lines i loop together since theres 4 and not just 2. thanks guys

So I'm down to the last few weeks to getting my car back on the road. I cut all hard lines already. Can't I just loop B&C together?
                    HELP ASAP.

looping B to C doesnt really help, its the same as plugging each of them individually - just connecting them together is harder, as they are very different in diameter. if you were going to loop them at the rack, i would loop A to B, but A to D works also. thats if you want a Looped system...

if you plug the 3 small ones and leave fluid in the rack, you can use C as an open-air way to keep it filled.

So for C, I can just cap off and B close off?
I no longer have a reservoir tank. I deleted lots of things.

I'm assuming I loop the lines on the VSS on the tranny.
Btw thanks Mike. You're being truly helpful right now.

So C won't spill out if I put a rubber cap?

im almost certain that there will never be positive pressure coming from C, so a rubber cap should be fine. glad to help, this is an often confused subject.

Is removing the belt from the pump an accurate representation of how the steering will be if you go through all the cutting and looping and plugging of lines? Just curious.....I ran my DA a few years ago without power steering and it was not at all bad. Must admit i like having it but cleaning up the engine bay is a bonus I would like to look into.
