    Problems starting F22a4

    Hey,

For the past couple fo days my car has been having trouble starting. The engine turns over, but fails to start. I can sit there and crank it for 3 seconds and nothing.

My electrail systems are in a row as far as plugs, wires, distributer. I know if it would start and then die, it might be the alternator...

I'm thinking it's a fuel problem, because i have air and fire, and the only other part of the fire triangle...is fuel. But that's just my guess.

Oh, btw, it was rather cool that time, around 85 degrees.

    Any ideas?

Pull out one of your spark plug wires from the head and put the end of it close to a metal object under the hood, have someone crank the motor for you and see if there is a spark, if no spark, then you may need a new ignition control module. Same thing happened to me in the winter time, all shops will tell you that you need a new distributor but the ignition control module is the main part of the distributor that would commonly fail.

what makes this problem intresting is that after 10 minutes of letting it sit and then holding the pedal down 1/4 way and cranking, it started. Hasn't given me any more problems and runs fine once started. I'll try that spark idea...and as for the battery, ive had it checked, and its fine.

        Thanks

Any more info would be greatly appricaited

          1. do what the guys said about spark.
if u getting spark then its fuel.

on our cb7 the main relay goes bad. our cars are welll known for that.

the fuel pomp relay(main relay) is located under the steeringwheel. its a metalic box.

search here about main relay for further info.
i think there is a thread about main relay where they show a pic of it too. its about $65 to buy it.

            yes check that main relay...

if u dont hear the fuel pump going it may be that....
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!
