    240k=bad news?

    I havent done alot of actual research or found out if this is true, but i remember someone telling me, or reading somewhere, that the f22 series engines usually crap out around 240k. +/-. Im not fretting cuz theres quite a few members that have that many miles, if not more. Im just wandering if anyone has any facts, details, or information on whether or not this is true.

      trust me..im saving every penny i can for an H. My odo's reading just under 225k so ive got awhile yet. Just to be safe, i still wanna try and get a swap done before 240.

      And if wores really comes to worse, ill just swap in either another a6 or maybe a f20a

            id love nothing more than a 200+ hp euro-R. But im willing to settle for 190 or so

            If none of that is possible or within budget i'd like to go for SOHC vtec. And if all else fails then its direct replacement or f20a.

            To be honest, im really wanting to hop aborad the Deev train and go Pontiac. Those 01 Grand Am coupes are lookin yummy.. but thats distant future.

                I know...dont ask. I just recall hearing or reading something that f22a's had a tendency to crap out around there. Or if not crap out, that may be a turning point where more vigorous maintenance is required

                    There are plenty of F22As that are over 300k. Maintained properly,they'll last longer than the sheetmetal. Sadly, many aren't maintained properly, especially on their 2nd and 3rd owners. Still, the F22A can take one hell of a beating!
