98-99 cl 2.3....engine code? head compatibility

is it a f23? its not a h23 right?


my lil sis just bought one and it overheated. i want to know if the head off the 2.2 97-99cl is compatible. its blowing white smoke so i know the HG is gone. i know to have the head milled is about $75-150 but if i can get motor for about $150 ill keep the bottom and slap the head on hers.

just need some info,thanx.

They only came in the V6 or the F22B1. I dont recall seeing f23 but it should be stamped on the block.

Just buy a new motor. They arent that expensive anyway. F's are everywhere and they are plentiful.

shes a full time student in colege so im trying to go the cheapest way...im looking at the buy another motor option but the shipping is a killer.
