    Securing ECU Pins

OK so here's the deal. I got an intermittent CEL 22 (vtec pressure valve). I've traced it down to jiggling the pin for the vtec pressure valve in the wiring harness that plugs into the ECU. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. I've tried multiple ECUs, so I'm pretty sure its the harness side of the connector, and not the ECU itself.

The pin jiggles a little bit in the connector, but no more than any of the other pins.

I'm wondering how I can/should secure this pin better so I don't have this problem. Any suggestions?

    thanks

    hmm.. no bites?

I could use conductive glue and try to secure the pin as far into the connector as possible I guess... but if any of that glue created a connection between that pin and a neighboring pin.. then yeah, no good.

I guess I'll just have to revert to duct tape or JB weld.

    hehe

remove the pin from the connector and squeeze it a tiny bit, so it grips onto the matching pin a little tighter. just dont crimp it too tight, also, dont flatten out that pointy tab sticking up from the top, because thats what holds it into the connector.

        Did that, works perfectly now.

        Good call, thanks again.

For ne one else with this problem you can also lift the tab on top a little so it holds better
MR Thread- I brought SEXY back- LOL
If it jams, force it. If it breaks, it needed replacement anyway.
