steering wheel shakes (new rims, tires, allignment)!

i was reading in other posts and people said that unbalanced tires, bent rims, bad alignment can cause this, but i had my rims and tires NEW since March 2007
and i did the alignment right after i got them installed

my steering wheel shakes at high speeds, above 50 mph
what steering components should be checked out?

and btw, my steering wheel shakes when i brake too
but it only shakes when im brakeing hard from high speeds also
    probablly warped rotors

check the radius rod bushings... the bushings for the rod that goes from the from crossmember to the lower control arm. that will cause a vibration if they are bad.

my mechanic told me that that problem is because of my plus size rims, because the car wasnt built to hand such big and wide rims/tires.
i dont really believe this because he doesn't have any experience modding cars

does it stay at 50 and then go away or just continue?

you can check runout of the rim to see if it is bent.

the faster i go, the more it does it
and ive checked my rims, they arent bent
they started happening a long time ago, even when my rims were new

it could be your steering rack or radius rods.

Every single cb ive had does this, some more than others. But mine always goes away when i go faster. So i just speed up,

I dunno man, that looks like something to counter the vibrations, and not a actual fix.

I can find my size bc i dont have aftermaket rims, which would mean that they are saying the rim is a problem. Im thinking this would take the place of balancing since most people dont wanna have those weights showing on their cool after market rims

if you got aftermarket wheels, make sure you get the hubcentric rings..

if you dont have aftermarket wheels, it could be that your rims are unbalanced, the tire itself has high/low spots, or your axle could be messed up..

I had a bad axle and had a bad vibration around 45-85 mph..

The more and more i think/look into mine, It was either bad.old steering rack (200k+) or my axles, which were never perfect. Ahh, goo thing i but in a newer steering rack and will be getting new axles as soon as my project will be done, then i will be able to confirm.

Rotors have really have that much to so with anything unless he's brakeing. True they are wraped since they vibrate when braking, but i highly doubt thats whats causing the vibrations when just cruising,

PS, when i had wraped rotors, and I changed the whole spindle instead of rotors bc i didnt feel like dealing with the BS. I still had that vibrations crusing when my rotors didnt vibrate when braking.
