Well I get a pool of oil that collects on the ear of the block where the head and block meets on the intake side of motor by the timing cover. I have recently replaced the timing belt and all related seals so it can not be coming from there I checked the valve cover gasket and it is dry so the only other possibility is from the head gasket. Is this common. My next question is if it is the head gasket I would obviously replace it and do a little flow work on the head but would I yeild more horsepower from milling the head and upping the compression and spray it or only take out the minimum putting on a thicker head gasket and boosting it.

you could work on the head a bit
the headgasket could be blown, check the coolant. if theres oil in it, then you'll know.
was there any problems with the car heating up to hot?miss my turbo cb7
moved onto volvos. dont know how that happened, just did

There is absolutley nothing wrong with the way the car runs. It does not overheat nor is there coolant in the oil or oil in the coolant. My brother in law had the same problem on his 3rd gen accord. It doesnt leak that bad just enough to pool up then dry from the heat of the engine.I need a 14b or 16g turbo!

Not trying to say you did a bad job, but maybe one of the gaskets/seals you put in when doing the TB got nicked, and is causing a slow leak... before jumping to a HG, i would examine it again, clean it all up, and watch as the car idles, make sure its the HG before you do it, im sure it will be one hell of a job if you find out its soemthing else... also, if you plan on taking off the head, plan on fixing oterh stuff while your in there.Originally posted by riceraccordWell I get a pool of oil that collects on the ear of the block where the head and block meets on the intake side of motor by the timing cover.
