Strange Shift Pattern..

I've had my H22 in my car for about 2 weeks now and it's been fine.. other than my radiator leak.

Anyways, the past 2 days when I drive it normally, it will shift fine going into 2nd gear but when going into 3rd and 4th, it revs up like 500K rpm or a little less before it shifts. It's like it wants to jump a little higher before it shifts.

It only does it sometimes, depending on how fast I take off or how much gas I give it.

I am thinking maybe the ECU needs reset or something? It's really annoying though.

Also, my alternator belt squeaks like a mother when I start the car up and sometimes when Im driving. I've already gone through a bottle of belt lube and stuff.. but it still squeaks LOUD sometimes.

I need help!

not sure about the shifting issue but as far as the altinator try to readjust it ie lossen the boltsa little the pull the altinator up while you tight the bolts again the belt is probably just loose hope that helps

I assume it's an auto tranny?

I don't understand the post above me, but transmissions act wierd when you beat on them. They're just like that...especially the automatic ones. I'd do a flush, and see what that gets you. Go from there.

When the clutch pack in an auto tranny starts to wear down, the tranny 'slips.'

When it shifts from gear to gear, there is a lag between gears and often times the motor will rev since there's no load on it.

The clutches are having a hard time re-engaging due to wear.

Eventually it gets bad enough that once you hit that gear, it won't grab at all and the motor just revs and you slow down like it was in neutral.

Not sure in the case of a Honda tranny, but that's what it sounds like to me.

I found out the problem why it was shifting weird. The throttle cable thing that bolts up to the intake manifold, well one of the screws wasn't in and it fell out.. so the other one was just kinda holding it up and it wasn't totally secure.

So I put 2 new bolts in there from a wrecked 4g and it shifts just fine now. Runs even better than before, better response.

About the belt, I think I do need to tighten the pulley or whatever but I'll look it up in the Haynes manual tonight.

Hay did u have any probs wit ur TCU? my shits keeps on jumpin up gears and back down when i accelerate normaly. And i had the same sqealing problem jus tighten the belt.

My TCU is fine. It shifts perfectly, just how I want it to I guess.

It's a lot different feeling than the F22, shorter gears make a difference.

Which bolt do I have to tighten for the belt? Where's teh nut located at?
