    Ignition switch assembly question

Hey folkes, i got a quick question. Some pussy ass gang jacked my girls 96 accord about 2 days ago. They took that shit in the middle of the day in a crowded parking lot. Anywhay, the ripped the ignition out with a screwdriwer, thentook of in it. So does anyone have anyadvice about replacing it? Im goin to a junk yard right now, then im gonna hit up Autozone, or something. ANy help would be really appreciated.

You should be able to replace the entire ignition assembly. Also try to get either the ignition or the doors/trunk re-keyed so you can use 1 key for the whole car.

ok cool. thanks man. I just bought the part. It was about 150 for the whole assembly plus new keys. I dont think my girl will care about using 2 keys. I toled her 5 thousand times to keep her doors locked, but she just doesnt listen. WHen she get feed up with using seperate keys, then ill look into getting it re-keyed.

also if you look into an alarm system (with keyless entry) you wont have to worry about using the 2nd key. you can use the remote and just have the key on the ring for the JUST IN CASE moments/ trunk use

wow...dude I hope you didn't just need the "lock cylinder" alone..... Looks like you paid for all of it... Just the cylinder is about $10-15 bucks... and it comes with keys... I almost paid for the whole thing one day, but I found that I just needed the cylinder... Good luck on the fix bro

yeah, im pretty sure i paid for all of it. Its not all that bad. The deal is, Whatever breaks on her car, Her Dad will pay for if i can put it in for free. it saves both of us alot of money. ALso, I if i fix it half way, and it breaks again, its on me.
BUt had i know or heard of something cheaper, i would have tried it 1st.

Oh yeah, do any of you know how to get the rivet-looking bolts out that hold the ignition around the stering colum out besides drilling them?
