    Rough Start, Idle, and bogging.

We'll I've had my car for almost 2 years now. Just got it on the road New Year's Eve.

Me and my Stepdad have been trying to get it to idle and run right for sometime now.

When I start it up, The idle fluctuates between 500-1000. Then after a second or 2 it finally starts to Idle like it should. When i put it in gear. It goes just fine. When i hit second, it seems like it bogs down, almost like it doesn't want to take the fuel. and then it finally does. Fine from there on to 5th. But when I'm cruising in 4th or 5th, it does fine, until i take my foot off the gas for about 5-10 seconds. When i hit the gas again, it doesn't want to take the fuel.

It seems to be running rich. I'm thinking about replacing the Fuel Filter just because I haven't ever changed it.

Also my Climate control buttons stopped working about 2 days before I got it on the road. The knobs work, and the A/C button works. But the position buttons for the vents stopped working. My heater doesn't seem to be working either so I'm going to replace the thermostat this weekend.

    Any help would be appreciated.

the heater might not working because of the cable on the back of the climate control. Might wanna check if it is loose or tight.

                Good Chance, Could Be, Possible?

Have you checked for a blocked Fuel Filter?
What's the Air Filter Like? Is it Restricted/Blocked?
What are the Spark Plugs/Ignition Leads Like? Are they Worn Out/Shorting Out?
Have you checked the Base Ignition Timing? Is it within Specs?
Is the Battery Condition OK? Is it > 12.5 Volts
Is the Alternator Charge Rate OK? Is it between 13.7 & 14.5 Volts?
Are the Ground Wires to the Thermostat Housing in good condition?
What is the Compression Like? Are they even and above 160 PSI.
What Vacuum Gauge Readings are you getting? Is the Needle Steady @ 18-20 hg?
Are there any restrictions in the Exhaust, Intake or Fuel Lines?

These are just a few Basic things that need to be checked and verified before we can help you..
                Cheers
                Geoff

lol, how's the gas in the tank after two years? How much moisture has accumulated? Or has it been drained and refilled?
