    Adjust Calibrate TPS

ok, i think this is a stoopid question, but there is no such thing as a stupid question.

Adjusting you tps. you get a voltometer. Connect the neg to the ground (green). Connect the pos. to the constant 5v(yellow). Than after the 5v is confirmed on the yellow, you connect the pos. to the red (Flunctuating one). This should be .45 at idle and 5 or 4.95 at WOT. You adjust by loosening the 2 screws and moving the tps around(Sorta like doing the distributor).

    Here are my questions:

How in the world do you connect the the voltometer terminals to the wires? LIke you cut the insulation on the wires or something to get contact or what? I cant think of a way to do this unless you stick the volt. terminal thingys up into where the wires go into the plug, but i dont know if there would be any contact that way. If thats not the way to do it(Sticking the pins up in the plug), is there a way to do it so you dont cut the insulation on the wires? I know a dealer woudnt do it that way(of they did).

And after reading come of HondaFan81's posts. How do you check the voltage at WOT? Do you get someone to rev the engine or something? Im confused about that. Or is what that means is to make sure the yellow is at 5v?

Read voltage at the driver side shock tower connector, near the injector box and located the red w/black strip wire. Back probe that wire with one terminal from your multi-meter and the other back probing the green w/white wire (ground) or just use the negative on the battery.

At default position of the TB (closed), you should get 0.45V. If not, loosen the screws on the TPS (you have to modify this to be adjustable, factory has it riveted) and adjust until doing so. I loosen both screws, snug only one in when setting it, then recheck. If all good, then go in a fully snug both screws down. Then, open the TB up through the TB rotor until the butterfly is fully open, that is WOT (wide open throttle). No need for the engine to be on for the TPS to work. I have found that stock setups should have the TPS read about 4.4 - 4.6V max at WOT.

You can also measure at the ECU, although it is more difficult, unless you have the OEM tester harness.
