    Broken Hose.. overheated???????

Comming back from Maine doing about 90+ the whole way and i notice the engine temp gauge slowly moving to H. Pull over pop the hood and all smoke is comming out. Im like shit. I waited a few because i was scared to open it.. and yeah smelled like coolent. Look's like the hose is gone. where the bracket is to hold the hose on. (old and went through)... Look in the pics..

What is this hose called? What does it do? I put more fluid in and it seems to be fine. But i need to replace it asap so this does not happen again..

That's the heater hose. The thing in the 2nd picture with the cable going to it is the heater valve. So the hose you're looking for is from the block/head to the valve. Should be less then $10 from the dealer.

You don't have to. Just makes a bit more of a mess I suppose.

Fill 'er up and don't forget to bleed it.

There's a little bolt on top of the thermostat housing. Open that up, put coolant it until it starts running out of the bleeder. Close her up, top it off.

You could run the motor for a minute (NOT until it's hot though), shut it down and do it again to make sure you got all the air out.

might as well change the coolant and the thermostat while ur at it..its a tuff spot to get to but it can be done.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!
