Car dies when put into gear

Well this just started today, but when I put my car into gear...it just dies (automatic). First it was just reverse, but now its every gear and its happening a lot more often really fast. Its when the car is warmed up and cold, not sure what it could be. The only mod I have is a short ram intake.

Also, unless the car is VERY warmed up like to the full operating temperature, when accelerating from a stop the car feels like it wants to die, just sputters for about 1-2 sec, then goes. Never dies but always feels like that.

I just want to know if this is a relitavely easy/cheap fix or not, I plan on getting rid of this car and getting a cheap Lexus soon, but I need it to be in good condition to sell, I don't want to sell a car with huge problems to sombody. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Would cleaning the EGR ports help on the stumbling from a start?

Come on...somebody has to know!! Today when I started it up, I put it into Drive and Reverse it didn't die but the RPM's dropped to about 300 or 400 and it flet close to dying.

I also know why check the couplings on your intake, because when the coupleings get loose it causes yoru engine to bog like that so remove yoru intake and reinstall it retightening every thing! Good luck

I did new spark plugs in April when I got the car. Flushed out the transmission, coolant, and oil. Thats what I remember doing. But I haven't done the wires, cap, rotor or any of that). I'm going to put back on my stock air intake also. But the engine did hesitate before that too when somewhat cold.

I'm leaning more towards a bad or disconnected solenoid. More specifically, the lock up control solenoid A. Is your D4 or Sport light on when you drive the car?

I don't have a sport light and the D4 is on when its in drive, but not any other time.

Here's my thoughts. Your trans seems fine when you're driving but it wants to die when you put it in gear at a dead stop. Your trans has a lockup torque converter which is controlled by two solenoids. The only purpose they serve is to lock the converter to the engine as you're driving to help get you better gas mileage. A way you can test to see if either solenoids are going bad is to simply unplug them. They are on the front side of the trans housing. Unplug them and then start your car and see if it still wants to die when you put it in gear. Your D4 light will probably come on and stay on solid after doing that, but you will not do any damage to your car. Gas mileage might suffer a little, but if a solenoid is going bad and trying to lock the trans to your engine as you're sitting still, then it will definitely cause your car to want to die or idle extremely low. Check that and get back here with any new info.

Started it up today, from a cold start and it seemed fine...go figure. Still drops a little lower than it used to, but doesn't seem no the verge of dying. When I start my car, the P and D4 light comes on, but the D4 light then goes off, is this what you mean by does it come on? I just thought that itw as a part of the normal lighting that comes on when you start the car.

I've seen them come on and stay on which is normally when you know you can pull a code, or several codes if you're an unlucy bastard. lol All of Accords are manual so I don't know off the top of my head if the D4 light is supposed to come on when you start it. An auto Accord owner on here should be able to answer that one for you. Even if it's supposed to do that, you may be able to pull a code if it has been stored.

                      Do this:
