    ram air vs cai

what is the difference of a SR intake with an enclosed filter connected to a tube that takes in air from the bumper (ram air) & a CAI?

is there any difference if the sr filter is being fed air while as the CAI is sucking air from the bottom?

Well yes, air is air as the intake is sucking air. But the difference is that the CAI draws air away from the engine which means the air is cooler and so, according to AEM, well cool air is denser than warm air.

I think CAI gives you better gains, but the fear of water getting into it makes people get the SR, also cutting a hole in the car and all that.

I duno, but peeps say that the SR has better response.

    good luck !

Yeah,I had several searches about this already since I am buying one very soon.Just like people say,SR has better throttle response and sounds cool as well.CAIs are also good since they do suck in colder air than SRs yet still,it depends on you, considering the rainy days and extra money and effort to put it on.I mean it's really your choice.

Angels East,Angels West,North and South, just do your best,to guard her and watch her while she rests.

my question is though a ram air kit installed on a SR vs a CAI

basically a ram air kit is: the filter is enclosed and there is a hole for air intake, connected to that hole is a tube which is routed all the way into an entry in the front bumper. so cold air comes in.

only difference that i can spot is, the air is being sucked in from a closer position to the engine where in a cai sucks in air farthest from the engine.
