I was woindering about this for a long time. While I saw many other hondas have the VIN number starting with "1" but mine starts with JHMCB, I have heard that there is some difference between those two types of VIN.Any one has any idea on this one? Thanx in advance!

BASICALLY no difference... but i have one of each, and ive stripped both interiors and swapped both motors, and there are some very subtle differences that most people wouldnt even noticeOriginally posted by brownaznkid
there's basically no difference... it's just that your car was made in japan to U.S. specs or Canadaian specs or wherever you're from

everything on the US cars were made by a different company than the Japanese ones... like the US clocks are made by BORG USA, Japan made ones are made by NS, so the internals are different and the numbers are larger, etc...Originally posted by TBILL

u know how the 9293 ebrake handles are shifted over toward the passenger side, well both US and Japanese accords have extra holes drilled in the center, so you can move the ebrake to the middle... but only the US ones actually have threads to them, the Japan ones are just a hole in the sheet metal.
stuff like that. if i thought abotu it i could probably remember a bunch more... kinda like how the steering wheel column cover is textured for the US ones, smooth for the Japanese....

denso makes the japanese clusters... very hard to find replacements for in the junkyard :X the internals on the denso clusters are completely differnet from the US clusters, i found that out after i made my whole LED DIY guide.Originally posted by exexexex
o,yeah,I took a look a look at my car, found that my gauge is made by denso. Is that also a difference?
