    yet another noise....serious??

Noticed this while driving a couple days back...

Lets start by saying its a loud clank as if its metal on metal. The noise happens whenever i have been moving for a while and suddenly brake, or when im stopped and i accelerate quickly (both in a straight line) and it also happens going over bumps....repeatedly. I got out and kicked the wheel as hard as i could and u can faintly hear the same noise. This is on the drivers front, and i just had the ball joints checked...mechanic said the drivers front lower is a little loose. Theres a similar noise from the other side too, not sure if its the same cause. Any thoughts??? Kinda gettin worried here...

check all the balljoints like you have more throughly, they shouldn't move at all. Also check to see if your calipers mounting bolts are screwed all the way in tight.

It can also be the bushing on your lower control arm or bushings on front swaybar or sway bar links. Can be a lot of possible things. You have to inspect it very carefully to find out the specific cause of this noise...

get a friend to stand outside ur car if u know what side its on. tell them to watch the front tire when u go and stop. If ur tire moves back (its a pretty easy thing to notice) then ur bushings are bad OR u lost a bolt where the bushing goes.
