DIY: Motor Mount Insert Kit from Energy Suspension.

Hey guys, I dont think this has been in here yet so here ya go. I just found out about this last week, and thought some of you may like to do it also, since they only make an insert for the front torque mount. Peace. Oh yeah the kit only costs around 30 bucks.

I had this DYI to install Motor Mount Inserts. Its not the best instructions but I think it can help someone

Motor mount inserts will dramatically reduce wheel hop while at the same time, stabilizing your engine from vibration. You will have a little bit better acceleration and you will notice a definite improvement on the road. Follow these directions for installing motor mount inserts. If you are not too good with your hands then this may be something that a professional should do.
    Good luck.

    Tools Needed:
    2 1/2"X 2" Washers
    14mm Socket
    17mm Socket
    17mm Deep well Socket
    19mm Socket
    1 ratcheting wrench
    An extension
    Jack
    2 Jack Stands
    1) You will want to jack up the front of the car for the install, although I think you could probably do it without jacking it up. Also removing the two front tires will help accessibility to the front two mounts. The black plastic guard under the radiator and A/C condenser. The guard is held in with 5 plastic screws and 2 metal bolts (I think). You will also need 2 metal washers to hold the mounts on the ends of the motor mount assembly, the washers are for the front 2 mounts.

    2) Take the 14mm (2) bolts out that hold the mount to the frame. Loosen the 19mm (1) bolt on the end of the motor mount assembly. Take the 17mm (3) bolts out that hold the Motor mount assembly to the motor.

    3) The whole mount should drop out, now take the 19mm bolt completely off and remove the motor mount. Now insert the motor mount inserts. Reverse to reassemble and install a washer before you put on the 19mm bolt.
    4) Again, take off 14mm bolts (2) holding the motor mount to the chassis. Loosen the 19mm bolt (1) at the end of the motor mount assembly. To get the mount off you will need to loosen (DO NOT TAKE THESE BOLTS COMPLETELY OFF!) the 17mm bolts (2) that hold the motor to the upper motor mount. As you loosen these bolts the motor will drop slightly.

    5) Take off the 19mm bolt and wiggle off the motor mount. Now put in inserts but remember to use the washers. Reassemble everything. Raise engine back up by tightening the 17mm bolts.

This is the trickiest of the mounts, but not really all that hard. This mount is directly below the intake manifold.
    6) Do this from the top. With a super long extension and a wobble will be helpful, loosen the 14mm bolts (3) hold the mount to the cross member. There are 2 bolts on each side and 1 bolt kind of inside the mount, more toward the front of the car. Just look you'll find it.

    7) Now loosen the 17mm (1) bolt holding the mount to the mount assembly. This is sort of tuff. You really have to put the monkey on it.

    8) To get the mount out, you will need to jack the engine up a few inches. I jacked mine up from the oil pan (I know it isn't too safe). Once the engine is high enough you can push the mount towards the firewall and rotate it clockwise. It should slide out. Install the inserts, no washers are needed. Slide it back in, it's a little harder with the inserts in the way. You might need a little magnetic wand to get the 14mm bolts into their holes. Tighten down the bolts. Now start to lower the engine slightly and when the mount and brace are aligned, slip in the 17mm screw.

    No credit for this DYI
I have these sitting on my pc collecting dust in the closet

This is a totally different DIY than you just mentioned. These allow you to make your own inserts with urethane. The instructions are straight forward, if you cant understand them why bother even opening your hood (no offense).

BTW: I recommend dropping the engine out for this one. Because it takes about a day for all the mounts to dry, and its best to do them all at the same time.
