The main purpose for this DIY is to remove the seal thats on the valve cover (head gasket)

Does anyone know if the valve cover is aluminum?? I am doing this DIY tomorrow as well as painting my VC, its peeling right now, and the paint stirpper I bought says not to use on aluminum surfaces...any help is appreciated
