    Dyno Tune: Dec 11th @CTR

well i wasnt really going for more peformance, but i needed a retune cause the smog guys messed with my timing, and i put the straightpipe on... so i thought what the hell. well im making the same power i was over a year ago, and having a modded dc header does absolutely shit. well, maybe not absolutely, i gained 1hp on my peak tq, but im making the same hp. dont have the graphs yet, i didnt ask for the files on disk, and i dont really care.

but here are two clips, one with and without the silencer.

    run with silencer

    w/o silencer

funny thing, i didnt think the silencer would have that big of a difference... but having it in, gained me a peak hp of -13. pretty sweet huh. so basically fuck the silencer. im just gonna look for a little quieter muffler.

for those only getting audio, go dl the most recent divx codec...

              http://www.divx.com/divx/download/index.php

it put down 195/151. and that "ricey" sound you hear does come in between 3-4k. its cause im running a 2.5" headerback, no cat and a 3" in/out straightthru muffler. i dont care about it too much. but i am looking for a new smaller muffler. since im not going to be running a silencer anymore, i want a smaller tip.

thanks for all the compliments. maybe its just me, but i kinda like that hollow sounds produced by running a straightpipe. ill post a vid of a gsr that was getting tuned before me. you can really tell the difference between how much mine screams over his. btw, he had a set of blox stage1 cams, cai, dc 4-1 header and straightpipe exhaust w/o a cat. he's still using the stock muffler, but its blown out and it was rattling like hell... cant tell so much on the vid though.

Those are some damn good numbers. Are you like riding on the brink of detonation to make that much power??? Do u know what rpm the dyno was started at? Cause that thing built power fast...real fast. I think u'd cream me. And would u mind sharing your map?

200 at the crank stock. He puts down 195 to the wheels. Thats freaking nice.

But my H spit my silencer out the second day on the highway. I am also looking for a smaller muffler now. http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/m...tips_ss5x8.asp

it does push 200 stock but thats at the flywheel. Getting that to the wheels takes some smart and well planned mods. Almost all hp ratings from the manufacturer are taken at the flywheel.

Hmm...is it the crank or the fly?...wouldn't they be the same either way? Since the fly would influence the crank and vice versa?

The crank and the flywheel is the same thing practicaly, its going through the transmission where it looses some power.
