    Rig Shot!

My best rig shot (so far ) Done in the middle of the day (not a good idea). Trying out the new lens and such. How it turned out... it'd be very hard to photoshop the rig out (stupid me). I should've snapped a pic from the same position without the rig. Oh well, I'm new at this lol.

    Equipment Used:
    Canon Rebel XT
    Sigma 10-20mm
    Sunpak Circular Polarizer

    Settings Used:
    Shutter Priority (Tv)
    F/22
    1/15s
    10mm

Yeah, I know I'm supposed to Photoshop it out, but it was just a test, and I didn't feel like it :P

              Parts list:
              - Metal poles I found laying around ($0)
              - 2 Avenger F1000 Pump Suction Cups ($48.50 EACH)
              - 2 Avenger Super Clamps (24.95 EACH)
              - 1 Manfrotto/Bogen Super Clamp w/reversible stud ($19 USED)
              - 1 Manfrotto/Bogen Mini Ball Head 484 ($45)

Everything (but the poles) were bought from http://www.adorama.com/
I forget the complete total.... but, it was a lot with shipping to Canada haha. It'll be cheaper for you US peeps. More info is here: http://photography-on-the.net/forum/...d.php?t=490505

rig looks good and really sturdy. i usually see only one suction cup only.

                few questions..
why time did you shoot this?
why did you choose to make a rig to go on top of the car instead of under, it would be easier to take it out of the photo by photoshop.
                So SIIC...

                  1. In the afternoon.... about 2pm... (bad idea BTW, but I had to work at night and was the only time I could do it)
                  2. Cheaper and easier to put on and take off (don't have to jack up the car or search for flat bare metal for the magnets to stick to). This can can be used on any car.

I know an under-car rig one would be easier to photoshop out, but as I said, this was cheaper and is easier to use. Perhaps if I get more money and serious about it I will look into an under-car rig.

                    Manfrotto*

Cool rig though. Do you think it'd be able to hold onto a vertical surface like a door or quarter panel?

                      Thanks, lol...oops.

They hold 'okay' vertically, but they get REALLY unsteady.

I set the timer and ran back into the car haha. This isn't a very good idea, but it's all I could do .

I just got a remote the other day, so I'll have to try it out when I get a chance.
