Get yourself a UV filter. It will cut down on the white washed skies. But it looks like a lot of it comes from you adding all the contrast in photoshop.

It's really a mix of the direct sunlight and modifying the levels. How much does a UV filter run for?

A UV filter isnt going to help nearly as much as a circular polarizer will.
