Grand canyon pics - Canon SD900

I went to Grand Canyon last week. Took some pics with an SD900 point and shoot. I wish I was able to take better shots but.. please critique anyways.

wow! nice pics. I am afraid of heights and just by looking at the pics, I am already shakin. looks very tempting to jump off those cliffs with a parachute though.

Great pictures man. The composition is very good. (though, i wonder how hard it is to get bad composition out there! lol)

If you are looking for critique, my biggest comment would be that the pictures all seem a little "washed out", which is probably due to the aparent haze, and your camera.

However, its nothing a little post processing cant take care of.

              Example...

              ORIGINAL:

              PROCESSED:

              Keep shooting!

wow that's a big difference. what setting / feature can lessen the haze from being too dominating using point and shoot settings?

david: nah i wasn't able to go to that spot. I just went with a tour group and this spot was the only place we spent all 45 minutes of our grand tour at the grand canyon. i kinda wanna go back and check that place out though.

I don't know about the SD900, however on my 1Ds, I just use a good haze filter. They work wonders.

The processing certainly helped, but the day didn't seem terribly hazy to me. It is just so damn big, it is hard to get it clearly. Maybe a little hazy, but not too bad.

Can add that to a point and shoot?
