Ruby's (90 LX) master cylinder seems to be getting a little spongy. I have several EX master cylinders in my stockpile. I realize the booster is different and the internal piston is slightly larger on the EX MC, but can it be used on the LX?

depends on ABS, which used a larger fitting on one side (12mm instead of 10mm). If they both used ABS (I dont think the LX did...) it should fit.Last edited by cp[mike]; 07-20-2019, 12:29 AM.

No, my 90 LX does not have ABS. I have a full set of EX fuel and brake lines, but I don't want to go that extent.90 LX 4dr 5 spd 396,014 (sold 1/1/2022) - MRT: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=201450

I really think this is a great upgrade. All OEM parts, simple and straight forward. Swap out the booster and master cylinder, flare a line and bleed the brakes. Done in a couple hours. With spare lines and the larger fitting the flaring part is the most intimidating, but honestly it is so easy. Just take your time and do it right.
This thread from 2006 lists out some options.
