Hey guys,
I had searched around this forum but couldn't find a definitive answer, plus, I bought some speakers and tried installing myself and it still doesn't fit.
--------------------
So I have a 93 Accord EX Coupe and I'm trying to replace the front speakers.
Initially I bought these: https://www.amazon.com/Kenwood-KFC-1...wood+KFC-1665s
I bought it because it came comboed with a deck so I thought it was a good deal, but I didn't check the size beforehand. It's a 6.5-inch speaker.
After removing my stock speakers, I realized that the stock speakers were smaller. I measured it out, the diameter of the stock speakers from the longest ends were about 5.25-inches. The depth was a little less than 2-inches.
--------------------
Therefore, I figured I'd get these: https://www.amazon.com/Kenwood-KFC-1...ood+KFC-1395ps
I tried putting these in the stock pod, but again, it doesn't fit. The metal bracket that holds the speaker such as this: http://carspeakerspro.com/wp-content...66.jpeg?189db0, rubs against the stock plastic hub. It's weird but I swear it should fit by measurement...
--------------------
So I've done a little bit of searching and found that some people were having luck with 4-inch speakers and/or removing the stock pod to fit 6.5's.
I removed the stock pod to try and fit the 6.5's. It fits in the hole fine, but I can't find a way to screw on the speakers.
Here's how it looks if I try fitting the 6.5's: http://imgur.com/a/vUJdf
--------------------
So I'm wondering, what are your guys' suggestions?
Should I try and fit the 6.5's or go with 4"?
Thanks!
