About the photo, it looks a little out of focus. The colors look nice though. Next time, and for the future, you will want to make sure there are as few distractions as possible in the frame. Take the power lines to the top right of the frame for example. Had you moved in a little closer you would have a much less cluttered shot.

Good luck and stick with it man! Also, what camera are you shooting with?
thanks for the tips brotha oh yes i will stick here for a while maybe not on this thread but def. in photography.. about the power lines yup. lol i was jst messing around and thought id take pics outside my house and all and wasnt really "shooting" stuff.. just for fun and thought id play around with photomatix.

Soooooo very close to being a perfect shot. I think 1/180 or 1/200 would have gotten his other leg frozen. its a kick ass shot as it is too.
              Good shit!

                Thanks!

It was tough trying to figure out what was the slowest I could go in there. Some shots at 200 turned out brighter than some I shot early on at 160

Another thing I'm beginning to find out is that with sports you really have to think a step ahead to get consistently great shots. Sure, you can get lucky a few times but only those that know what's up are going to be able to get SI worthy shots.

Unfortunately, I'm not one of those people yet (A perfect example of being off by just a split second)

Thats why I love shooting basketball. I played 13 years and could have played college ball before injury but it does help to know where the ball will probably go next.

i took these at my friends show over the weekend. Shot with my 50mm f1.8 and D90 @ ISO 2500. Pretty happy with the results considering the high ISO.

Those are actually very good for that high of an ISO. I havent been on here in a few days to see these.

Im dying to get Lightroom 2 for Christmas...only a few more days til I can kiss GIMP goodbye for most of my editing purposes.

                        C&C is greatly appreciated

They look good. A little dark but you can't really do much about that.

Ive already tried the lightroom 2 trial and it does everything I need it too.
The beta 3 is supposed to have some issues that havent been worked out, hence the beta status. I need something that works with tutorials available and proven methods that work.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I have done the research and I got Lightroom2 for $99 on the student rebate so all is good.
