    Jumpy Tach, after timing..

So, my car was out of time, and the tach would jump.
Now its timed perfectly, and it still jumps..
What else could possibly cause this?

A jumping tach usually is your ignitor is going out. Could be other things but generally it is that.

Why would you need to change the whole distributor? The igniter is completely removable/replaceable...

Before you change the ignitor (ignition contol module) or the entire distributor, check the distributor ground - it goes from the distributor harness to under the thermostat housing. If this connection is loose, it will result in a jumpy tach.

I'll have to check that in the morning. Would that also cause it to jerk a little?

It would not cause the car to jerk, but it does cause the tach to jump irratically around.

Not really jerk, just kinda like it lags. It doesnt wanna rev all the way to redline.
