Where the World's Unsold Cars Go To Die

    http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-0...ld-cars-go-die

Well then, I don't know about you but this may have given me more strength in talking down prices if I was to buy a car at the end of the year..

You would think they would definelty lower the price. Just so we can talk the price down a bit more.

google the story I already saw this on FB. those are stocks of cars waiting to be shipped to dealers. Most car companies keep a 60-75 day supply of new cars, to account for slowdowns in production. Not uncommon for production to be interrupted or halted.....Strikes happen often in the auto manufacturing industry.

Think about it, if there is a mishap anywhere in the supply chain that affects Honda's ability to produce new Accords for market..or even a mishap in the shipping chain getting new cars to the dealer...do you think consumers are going to wait around for the dealer to get in more Accords? No, they are going next door to the Nissan dealer and buying a Altima. Or to the next Honda dealer that has Accords in stock. Hence why they have backup stocks. Their dealers demand such a thing to keep customers happy and everyone making money.

Apparently I'm not the only one who thinks that article is dumb.

yeah, I sorta did take a step back when I seen the second link I posted, when I seen the accord and Tsxs, I'm like " wait a minute that's not new... oh well they probably have been sitting there. "

Still I do wonder, where do the unsold cars go? to smaller dealerships? etc

Sell them for $2000 as is, at least they would be getting something for them instead of having to buy more land.

If they sold them for a fraction of the price, without a warranty, they could probably sell those cars. Or at least most of them.

yeah that article is complete bullshit. Manufactures would not product a surplus of cars and not try to sell them. It just doesn't make any sense.

Saab sold their last cars at half price with no warrenty...and they sold all of them.

Their are no unsold cars out there....at the end of the model year, they have big sales and discounts to get rid of unsold inventory to make way for new models, we all know this, we all see the ads every year.

Keep dreaming, you aren't going to get a new car for $2k....reality check, cars cost alot of money to build and sell.
