when i was up in Maine today someone in a silver ford mistake sorry (mustang) no disrespect if you own one, i did in the past.... he got next to me in my company car with his deep black tinted windows and started to taunt me to race him. ok here i am in my company car 07 black toyota matrix with missing hubcaps and comercial plates, what was he thinking. foolish act if you ask me.

I don't get the title... Lol a guy in a tuned up sentra tried to race me when I was taking my behind the wheel training and it has 3 magnets saying "STUDENT DRIVER" hahahah

If so, I'd have reported him. I've heard of similar stories of cops in unmarked cars trying to get apparent ricers to race. Baiting someone into doing something illegal, that they would not be doing otherwise, is called entrapment... and it is HIGHLY illegal.

You were driving your company car. Slow, stock, and most likely automatic. I am assuming that you weren't driving like an idiot looking for a race. There was NO indication that you were out looking for a race... therefore trying to bait you into racing would clearly fall under the entrapment category.

On the other hand, if you were in a souped up car, cruising down a well-known racing area... you could be looking for a race (in this case, it's arguable that he merely caught you doing something you were going to do anyway... just as an undercover female cop dressed as a prostitute can arrest a guy that hires her, even if she solicited him initially... as long as he was rolling around looking to talk to a prostitute.)

i was really confused..how you know if it was a cop? could just be some tough guy behind tints wanting to race? regardless if it was a cop i wouldv'e made him pull over and got his badge #..Sucks to hear..

ohhh yes definatley 5 ohh. last week a silver mustang with tinted windows and out fitted with blues in windows and strobes in the lights had someone pulled over. anyone from Maine shouldve seen this cruiser around on rt95, and if you havent noticed it..... you will now. and Dev yup automatic and stock. (well i did put a small TRD emblem on the back lol )

I'm not sure if it's entrapment. Wiki's definition of "entrapment" ( I know Wiki is not a valid source, however)

I suppose if you are ready and willing it wouldn't be considered entrapment.
