ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Traction bar quesions

Ok So I did my searching and researching and couldn't find anything covering my questions so here goes..

    1. Assuming you do not still have your stock radius arms for comparison (if they would even be helpful) how do you know exactly how long to set your (now) adjustable radius arms on a traction bar ( Innovative, Exp,etc..)?

    2. It seems to me that having a solid connection between the hub and the cross member/traction bar would cause the wheels to toe in under compression or extension as the distance between the mounting points of the radius arms would naturally want to change.

To set the length just get an alignment, that will straighten that out. An OEM setup has the movement you are describing. This is caused the by rubber bushings they will compress and allow for movement of the radius rods. A traction bar will always keep your caster as it was set in the alignment. This is due to the solid connection the traction bar offers vs the soft ride of OEM components that can compress.

      Hey.

      1. You would compare to another cb7. Measure from the knuckle to any point. I can't remember the amount of caster required for our cars.

      2. If it's a solid connection there is no room for compression or extension. Toe would not be affected by this connection point. A solid traction bar helps with wheel hop as things are stiffer.

yeah you are both right, an alignment would be in order and comparing to another cb7 would help in the meantime. I wasn't thinking when I mentioned toe, I was thinking 2D instead of 3D.
