ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Stalling issues H22 (swapped into CB9)

    Hello, I'm Justin.

I have been reading for WEEKS now...

I know H22's have idle issues.

Just had the Head gasket done, timing belt, tensioner, cam seal, valve cover gasket, exhaust gasket, IAC cleaned, plugs, wire, pcv valve cleaned...

But my car idles low, 4-600. I think I have that narrowed down...

The major problem is the car stalling when I come down from high RPMs. I've been reading other posts with people having the same problem and it gets SO OFF TOPIC I cant find a solution. Or ends up with someone saying "Oh, I'm dumb, I just figured it out." And never ended up posting the solution.

My main concern is the CRANK SENSOR. I'm pretty sure its just hanging. the problem just started about 3 months ago (just had all work listed above done 5 days ago).

My mechanic says he doesnt think its ever been hooked up, but Its only been doing this recently.

Please, I'm asking for any input at all. I dont know what else to do.

    Thank you,
    Justin

    Here are some pictures.

Link to a video. I'm making the car rev in the video, the video is just to show the car stalling.

Im essentially asking if anyone knows where this gets plugged into?

On the H22, you can wire that crank sensor in, there may be another wired in already though. What H22 and what dizzy?

Also if you adjust your idle up does it fix the stall? If so what RPMs does the stall stop at?

That crank sensor is non-issue if you're running an OBD1 distributor. The OBD1 distributor integrates that signal into itself while the OBD2 distributor does not and requires the external input from the crankshaft positioning sensor. If you wired up the OBD2 distributor then swap it out for an OBD1 unit.

Right, that's why my question was about what motor and dizzy.

It looks like OBD1 dizzy and H22A4 motor, but I can't really tell.

The plugs are OBD1 for sure, but it looks to be taped up around the wiring going into the distributor. That would give me the impression that it's an OBD2 distributor using OBD1 plugs.

Let me edit this by saying that the USDM H22A4 distributor and the JDM H22A/H23A distributors are not the same thing internally. The JDM one integrates the crank sensor (via a calculated cam sensor signal) and the USDM H22A4 uses the sensor on the oil pump like the OP has. I want to clarify this in case anyone uses Stoner51's guide on installing a JDM OBD2 H22A into a CB.
