Well here is some progress I made today, I never got to the shifter though. I got too excited and forgot to take pics before I started cleaning the head, but these are after just a mild cleaning.

I plan one at least one more cleaning, if not 2 to get it done all the way. I'm getting a valve spring compressor tomorrow so I can fully inspect the valves. And tomorrow is when I begin the tear down, a little worried honestly, hope it goes off without a hitch.

I blackhoused my new lights today, here are the pics:

      After:

More pics and updates to follow tomorrow.

Sorry, I have been busy and I had to postpone my rebuild until tomorrow. I'm doing the brakes tonight, and installing the blackhoused lights. I installed my BB4 shifter earlier:

Here's the stock CB7 shifter still in:

And the new BB4 shifter installed:

And on a side note, I'd like to punch whoever said this was a simple bolt on. I mean it IS easy, but I got 3 bolts in and the last hole was a bit off. After awhile of working at it I was finally able to get all the bolts in and tightened down. Right now I am leak testing the head, waiting for the results on that. Tonight I will be installing CD7 wagon/VTEC 'Lude calipers, 25T brackets, and CD7 wagon rotors. And tomorrow she gets opened up, I'll do my best to take as many pics as possible.

          CD7 Wagon/VTEC 'Lude calipers:

          CD7 Wagon rotors:

To which ever Mod that moved this thread, thanks, I put it in " off topic " because I figured it didn't exactly fit into this area, but I'm glad it's here.

It's still up in the air if its a knock or piston chatter....this had nothing to do with me deleting my balance shaft belt!

I have started work on tearing down the CB, I have drained all the fluids, removed the header, and the brace the runs next to the header. I plan to at least get the head off tonight. I also got a little excited and got drenched by the block coolant plug....fucker!

So awhile ago, when i replaced the oil pressure sensor, I decided to clean the block because I saw this:

After I got done this is what it looked like:

My degreaser of choice for said job?

Available at your local Dollar Store for the amazingly low price of......wait for it.......$1. Yup, a dollar. Works great and cheap as fuck. Well off for more work, pics and more updates to follow.

So I decided to stop for the night, getting a bit late. Here's a some of my progress:

Tomorrow I'll open her up and do my best to get it to the shop before they close. I need to finish cleaning the head, install my new brakes, and my headlights. But most likely I'll do that after the block is at the shop.
