as for the inside of the rack

i took out the cylinder sleeve, being that since i took the seal out, thats what the sleeve is doing, thats the only purpose of it, so no need

yes viper i remove the plastic

Question, I have a leak somewhere and pretty much have been driving with no ps.

I dont want to pull the wrack out so should I just take everything out and maybe just leave the line open? Or throw cork in the line to stop it from coming out?

if you're not running PS remove reservoir, and open the lines on the rack
it will leak, eventually it will stop since there's nbot gonna be not anymore fluid

        will my rack fuck up?

And how do I open the lines on the rack?

How do I keep the rack lubricated with them open?

You do know you posted in a diy section right?

If you're worried about messing up your rack then just cionvert it or get a donor and convert it. Not hard to figure out honestly.

I don't know why everyone is giving me a hard time around here lately

              Here i'll ask like this.

My lines and everything is completely together on my ps set up right now. There's fluid at the bottom of the res.

So i'm assuming in my rack there's still fluid and it's still lubricated.

So if I take the lines off the fluid will piss out the rack and not be lubricated anymore(i'm assuming).

I guess my question is whats going to happen to my rack if it's not lubricated. Because op says looping just stresses it out.

I don't know where my ps leak is. I dont know if the rack is leaking or the pump. I hate the way the pump looks too in the front of the car. Since it doesn't work I just want to get rid of it.

              Thanks

                you'll get rash

nothing will happen to the rack, if its got a leak fix the leak, if its from the rack seals replace rack
you wont like your car w/o PS

                  loop with a vent

Loop the system and vent it to air, it requires a resinous still, but much less of one. Some people sell kits, but you can make your own. I also have not seen any problem with just looping, I do use longer lines then most people to hopefully reduce the pressure, but yeah no problems so far. Most people simply run without anything, stupid bastards.

What happens if I just pull out the ps pump. I have no ps at the moment and like it.

Can I tuck the huge wires behind next to the firewall or just take them out all together.

I have an H with no ps and have been thinking about putting it on but this sounds alot better in the long run. How would you go about re-greasing it other then taking it back apart? would there be any way to add a grease zerk to the body?
