Do you have pieces of plastic, maybe a spring and a couple of brass colored metal things? Without seeing it, I'm guessing the brake light switch broke.

Look like a shattered blue sucker?

That rubber/plastic piece goes on the back side of the upper portion of the brake pedal. It hits a switch that activates/deactivates your brake lights.

Get up under there (you'll have to put your head on the floorboard) and put a nut/bolt where the platic piece broke from. You'll never have to worry about it again.

Bolt head towards your seat, nut holding it onto the pedal from the engine side.
The plastic piece fits into a hole on the pedal. Get a bolt that will fit in the hole.
Just make sure the bolt isn't too long.

Yes, that's the "blue shattered sucker" I was referring to. Just get a bolt/nut and be done with it.

Good looking out, Josh! I figured the switch broke somehow, but luckily you've had the problem before! Excellent advice on the fix, as well! I'm giving you a prop on your reputation!

The plastic piece broke twice within about 5 months of owning the car, so I finally just used the bolt/nut combo. No problems since then. lol

Mid to upper portion of the pedal. You'll need to get under your dash to see it.

Hardest part of install is getting yourself back out of the car.
