Ok so I got my paycheck from my new job today and pretty much it said I make 39 dollars an hour.. I make 9 an hour and my check came out to like 1000 something when I should have made like 300 or less.. What would happen if I cashed my check? Would I get in trouble for their mistake lol...?

They'll take it to court and sue for unjust enrichment. It's a mistake. Do yourself a favor and at least question them about it. You'll be glad you did. they will eventually find out and your other checks will be garnished by the company until they get their money back unless you quit.Originally posted by starchlandI would cash it and play stupid if they ask after...how can they take the money out of your account after its been deposited?
There was a story on msn I think several months ago about a guy who left or got fire from his job and years after not working there he was getting a pay check direct deposited but never reposted he was. It got free money for years but the company did find out he got in a lot of trouble and was arrested(not sure on what charge tho)1993 Accord LX - Sold

That's what I got from it but I would also NOT want to test it out either. I would bring it up that you were overpaid and call it good. I wouldn't want to jeopardize my employment.
That and who doesn't notice an extra $700 on the paycheck, that is just too much too try to play dumb with.

Actually, that's an interesting thought. I wonder if it could be a test? I mean... it's risky, but who knows. Where do you work again? :POriginally posted by mozzandherbTell them about it, that way they know you are trustworthy and a good honest employee, unless you absolutely hate the job then do what you want with it!
