no matter what you do in life, someone's comments can always effect you in some way. make you think differently. make you ponder about it. and then later on down the road, it effects you in some way, shape or form.
its kinda like you saying that your not racist. i cant say that im not. because i kinda am. everyone is to some extent. think about it. after the 9/11 attacks happened, didnt you look at anyone from the middle east differently? you cant say that you didnt. im sure if you were at an airport and you saw an Iranian or a Afgan, you thought in your head "i hope they dont have a bomb." or if you lived in an all white neighborhood and you were black, the 1st thing that would come to your mind is "i bet if something happens, like if someone got robbed, they'd look at me 1st."
now, since i was in middle school, ive started to listen to rock bands like Linkin Park, Korn, Godsmack, and lately ive gotten a little deeper into rock(sort of hang banging music. lol) like Mudvayne, Slipknot, and System of a Down. but i still listen to some "pop" music like Justin Timberlake and Madonna(yeah. i said madonna. get over it.). both make music that i like listening to. everything that JT seems to make has a good beat to it plus he's kinda paired up with one of my favorite artist, Timbaland. Madonna seems to make dance and techno like music like her song "Jump" and "Sorry". and the moment someone hears me listening to any of that music, im suddenly classified as a "white boy". all i can do is laugh and walk the other direction.
lately ive began to wonder why i listen to the music i do. then i hear stupid songs like stuff from that idiot Lil Wayne and crap like that and i realize why i do. hardly any of the songs i listen to talk about how many hoes they have or how much money they got. its f**king annoying. its like they're rubbing in my face that they have more money than me.
i listen to Justin Timberlake, Madonna, Daft Punk, Rhianna, Paramore, and i still listen to some of Michael Jackson's songs. so what? should i be labeled a "white boy" because of it? last time i checked, hardly any of the "white boys" i know dont even listen to that kind of music. i find it insulting to be labeled basically a trader of my race because i dont always listen to idiot who talks fast and calls it rap.
idk. maybe im losing myself. ive been questioning alot of things about myself lately. i just got a promotion at my job(im not a shift manager), i got my cb black(the color ive always wanted it), im better than my brother for once in life(all my life ive felt ive been just a spec in his shadow.), and i got a hot g/f that other guys want but cant have, i got my friends all over the east coast, i have a car crew, but for some odd reason i feel like....idk....

I wear pink polos, I wear sneakers with pink, I dress preppy sometimes, I dressed urban most of the time. Its hard to understand me but sometimes I dont understand myself sometimes. I hate being place in a "categrory" hence the reason i dont put myself in a category. I'm Jamaican and most people would never know because I dont express the certain characteristics most people say ALL Jamaicans have. Dont let what people say get to you bro,do like what Yeamans said, take it like a grain of salt.
oops
I dont know, I never act strange or surprised when i see people from other races listening to urban/black music
