that looks like a cool place to go eat it, i like that retro look for diners.
retro? thats original... and you cant go 10 feet in jersey without walking into one. lol
diners are great. behind the kitchen doors nobody speaks english. the owners are all greek and pissed off. the waitresses wish you were dead, but for some reason are best friends with the people at every other table around you.
i can walk to 3 diners from my house and i live in the burbs. never saw that one though.
me, my mom, my bro. i think this was the day we visited CIA for the first time...we got aquainted with the campus, tommys (my brother) roommate..we had lunch with him and his family here, actually. ah man..time flies.
i say retro because everything looks all modernized here in Cincy.
Usually if they call it "Diner" it's modeled after that.
Diners came about when people would be working long hours, someone would be at the jobs, with food set up in their "vans", which were shaped like twinkies. They were mobile, and that's how that design came about. I can't get specific because I don't remember much from my culinary class in highschool. Not like you asked.. but just saying, a lot of places do that for a reason, not because of the area.
