same alarm but a different pager?

ok so my buddy got an alarm installed on his car 3 years ago so hes out of warrenty and now his pager is acting up. can he keep his setup and get a different pager from a different company and some kind of way program it to wrk? he says the buttons are acting up like at times it dont want to lock. i told him i didnt know so do any1 know the answer.

If the manufacturer is still in business, he can get it from them, but probably not from another company. Tell him to expect to pay $50 or more for it.

If it's a DEI alarm, *Viper, Code Alarm, Python, Side Winder, Hornet* he may be able to get a new remote for it and have it programmed to work.

The brain and wiring harness for my Ungo was the same as my Viper. I had the Ungo wired in my car, but, didn't have remote start, got a good deal on a Viper with remote start, I just took the brain from the Ungo alarm out, plugged the brain from the Viper alarm in and was in business. I did have to change antennas though. Other than that, everything was a direct swap

have him look the pager # up on ebay.

Than find the programing instructions with a google search...
