driving like a grown up

ok, i was thinking of this earlier while i was driving, in the past 7 years i have become a more cautious driver, but i still get the urge to just lay some fuckin rubber at a stop sign.

im 23 and i normally drive like im 73, but every once in a while i just feel like taching my car out and powershifting (POWERSHIFTNOSJDMMMM!!!!) and tearing second like i did when i was 17.

my question is, do you ever stop wanting to drive the shit out of your car once in a while or do you just become old and boring?

iam actually 17 , turning 18 and i already stop laying rubber , i only gunn it on the freeways now a days , its sad tho i miss the thrill, but then i also miss my good mpg

its super rare that i do it. in the honda i did it every now and then but in the new car isnt exactly quick. the exhaust sounds good and all but eh

I do it more for the thrill cause I get bored of everything in life and i enjoy the adrenaline rush. I never exceed the limit too much in the city cause i don't want to hurt anyone else.

It's rare that I'll really let go... I drive for a living, though, so I can't risk damage to my car OR my driving record (or worse, losing my license!) I also don't have health insurance... and I have plenty of things (like a house) to lose if I get sued!

Additionally, Atco Raceway and Englishtown Raceway are both reasonably close to me, so I have no need to go nuts on the street. No timeslips on the street! Though the nice man with the radar gun will tell you how fast you're going from time to time, if you let him catch you...

There's also a road course near me. I need to figure out when I can get my car on there! Not cheap, I'm sure... but I don't care

yea im usually a cautious driver, i go 10 over in most places, maybe 70 in a 55 on the highway but only if im flowing with the traffic. but when someone drives below the speed limit i get super pissed, one time i bit my steering wheel. i yell at slow drivers.

I'm the same way. Minus the biting.

10 over is usually acceptable. Most cops around here don't bother you for that. I got stopped for 21 over the other day (86 in a 65... I was with an X3 that decided to mash the brake and cut to the right lane just before we got to the cop... I should have followed! Got Careless Driving instead though... MUCH better!)

The way I see it, on a 3 lane highway, the left lane is for speeding. Do so at your own risk, keeping other drivers in mind. Center lane is for the limit. Don't go too far above, don't go too far below. If you're within 5mph of the limit either way, the center is the place for you. Right lane, crawl if you want to. It's the right lane. People have 2 lanes to go around you.

I HATE slow drivers in the left... or limit drivers. The center lane, just do the limit and I'm happy. The right lane... if I'm riding on a donut and refuse to go over 50mph, DO NOT m'n'f'n tailgate me! I may not be going very fast, but my brakes DO work!




Also, while I'm ranting... DO NOT wash your windshield in front of me while we're going 65mph. I don't want your car's dirty bathwater sprayed all over me (especially if my window is down!) If you do this, I will return the favor. Do it again, I will return the favor again... and send a few pennies your way. They don't wash off so easily! (ok, I never did that... but I'm SO tempted!)

Bit the steering wheel? I have heard of slamming a find against it but not biting. lol.

Im usually failry cautious, I do 5-7 over most of the time unless I am in one of my parents car's and they are with me. Otherwise their cars are treated like rental cars. Always fun to burn some rubber in a mini van.

I've been known to yell at other drivers. Slow drivers, people that dont signal and then pull right infront of me, anyone doing ONLY or below the speedlimit in the left lane and/or anyone who has a problem with my driving all annoy me. Just tonight I had someone pull infront of me without signaling then slam the brakes just to make a quick turn into the gas station. ASS!

Well aside from my job supplying me with a car,insurance rates dropping. I want it to stay that way and there are more things to consider on record. And id like to keep my driving record clean so i drive like an old person.

I mean comon with 200 full coverage a month in NYC thats rare and its about to be even lower with my defensive drivers course everyyear. Which saves me more money ever since i switched from geico. That rapist ass lizard bastard.
