    Laptop Cleaning/Maintaining

Lets talk about laptops. More specifically, cleaning and maintaining them.

As far the keyboard goes, i use canned air. Ill run a dry, or barely damp cloth over the keys like once a month.

My big thing is keeping the outside clean and free of smudges. I tried wiping with a kleenex or a paper towel with a little water, but it just doesnt seem to work very well.

What does everyone use to keep your laptop in tiptop shape?

2 great things about Scrubbing Bubbles:

1.) Kills spiders. Doesn't instantly kill them. Lets them suffer a bit.

2.) Very flammable, and awesome to watch. Spray a "glob" of it on concrete, then light it up. Looks so fucking sick.

My fiance says it's a good cleaner though. She gets pissed when I "waste" it.

Scrubbing Bubbles and Windex, eh? What about the screen? Windex as well? I try not to touch it ever, but sometimes i do and smudges bug the shit out me.

NightWolf, i might have to make myself a cover of some sort, lol.

No they make wipes for laptops that clean it really good and don't wear away at the laptop.

Scrubbing bubbles is for fucking bathtubs.....DO NOT use that.

They also make antistatic wipes for the screens, works great i use them on my 19'' flatscreen and it works great.

NO Windex, its for glass not for LCD or whatever.

I figured static-free cloths would be good for the screen. I wonder how well Windex would do for the outer casing...?

I looked last time and i didnt see any wipes. Thats actually what i was hoping for. Ill have to look around or hit up a different store next time.

You guys with the Scrubbing Bubbles...

yea you can use windex for the case, just be carefull not to get it to much into the keys or it might fry the keyboard.

Ya if you go into tech stores they usually have wipes for everything lol.

My bro used some scrubbing bubbles and a cloth to clean computers and printers at works. Works good for him

i use the Lens cleaning cloths..the ones used to clean eyeglasses..on the screen...they come premoistened. OR you can use the lens cleaning solution that comes in a small spray bottle..spry a few small and quick spots then wipe with a paper towel...works like a charm. I even use the same on the outside.
