Entry level is CCENT lol. (Cisco certified entry network technician.)Originally posted by 93EXaesthetic View Postarrrrgh
cisco certified network associate...
entry level cisco router shit
Im Working on getting my CCENT and then my CCNA soon. The only difference is that Im going to vocational school and taking the cisco Discovery course.
If you want to start learning Id say go to a college for it because this shit gets extremely confusing when trying it by yourself.
I'm actually ready to get my CCENT, its just I dont have the $120 for the test.
I dont know if getting a CCNP lab would help you to get your CCNA because the CCNP lab probably assumes you have your CCNA.
A big thing to get into from what I hear is CCNA Voice certification, A lot of businesses are switching to voip and need techs.Last edited by EJX_Michael; 07-03-2009, 03:54 PM.

i just got out the army 2 wks ago im unemployed waiting on a job overseas.. right now .. im knee deep in ICND book one by wendell odom
i think im gonna just knock out the CCNA rather than the CCENT test my goal is by the end of the month
it cost 250 to take the full CCNA test and i dont think there are retakes...i am probably going to dig in my GI bill money to take this test.
im doing this on my own... no boot camps.... just two books by wendell odom icnd 1 / 2 .. and a boson net sim my friend hooked me up with./ plus small dosages of caffiene intake
as far as labs.. i hear its better to get the CCNP if you are going to go for it right away after..but cisco equipment resale value sucks so i dont want to overkill with the lab setup..but i am looking for the most cost effective setup .. i think i am going with the 2950 series switch.. i found some cheap locally .. i still havent found out which router im going to use.. i must just skip on the lab and rely on the netsim.. even tho i dont want to
<back to the lab>
hope you can raise the cash ... if i had an extra 120 i would lend ya.. im sure you can raise 120 no problem.. go take that test mang.

Hell yes. You shouldn't need to buy routers and switches really. Use packet tracer. Its a full network simulation program. PM me your email and ill send it to you because I think you have to be a cisco academy user to get it.Originally posted by 93EXaesthetic View Postthx for the input... i have waisted to much time.. i learn better on my own.. i went to a ccna class at the local testing center.. and got into a class for 2500 bucks !!!!! and i never finished it..TALK ABOUT A WASTE OF CASH.. i financed it. the time is now bro i dont have 16 + weeks to sit in a class.. Im pretty sure if you fail the CCNA test you can take it again, but you have to pay again.
