Ramadhan is here! Happy fasting!

To all who observe the fasting during Ramadhan, happy fasting, may this year's Ramadhan be a better one from last year, InsyaAllah.

My friend does that. I remember a couple years ago i used to work 12-9pm with him.
And as soon as the sun would go down we would stuff our faces.
One time, he ate a whole Pizza pie by himself lol

I dont know how some people do it, nothing the whole day, i would collapse

yes, from dawn till dusk, no water, no food, no smoking, no swearing, no bad thoughts, no porn (ehem)

fasting is not just about not taking any food or drinks for the whole duration of daylight, but to abstain from things that would forfeit the fast, including sex and the above mentioned

but we do have a pre-dawn meal, although many people cant wake up to eat at 3am!

No water? Don't you need that though? I'm not trying to sound rude or anything but that sounds like giving up air. Sure you can live longer but why give up water. Food, sex, drugs, rock and roll, porn, swearing, heck even talking I can see, but water?

Is there any special reason to give up water?

Anyway, I kinda follow the same diet almost daily. For some reason I'm not hungry thought out the day. By night time I'm pretty hungry

careful you don't become diabetic by doing this by eatting a large meal maybe once a day then going to bed. it's said that it's better that you eat several small meals through out the day.

Good point. I don't gorge I wouldn't say. Just have a big dinner. Still, you're right. My Fiance and I have been exercising and dieting a bit so maybe things will change

During Ramadhan, we cannot consume anything during the day. the only thing that is aloowed thru the human passages are air

No water, no food, no chewing gum.

It's tough at first ( I started fasting at the age of 6) and I couldnt wait for the clock to hit around 7pm

But after years, it's already part and parcel of my life.

The best part of Ramadhan are the special delicacies to eat during the breaking of fast available only during the fasting month.

I worked with a couple Egyptian guys at a restaurant. I don't know how they cooked food all day when they were fasting! Maybe that would explain why they were cranky...

Ramadan is an islamic tradition dating back a loooooong time. They aren't going to change it.
