    Messing with iTunes

So I use my iPod a lot. It is my sole source of music in the car.

I like to sometimes press the shuffle all button. Sometimes little 10 second intro things come up. They get immediately counted as played. Then I get home and sync to iTunes. These tracks get put on my recently played playlist, and then when I use that the play count of these meaningless tracks grows exponentially. Eventually making their way to my top 150 songs playlist, which I also utilize a good bit.

I know for a fact that iTunes counts a song as played when up to the last 10 seconds of the song have been played. I want to change that value to like 0 I guess.

    Any ideas?

Figured out how to solve the problem a different way:
Add a rule in the smart playlists.
    Time > 0:30

I think you can make it skip songs in shuffle. I gotta go get on iTunes to see how to do it, though.

I do it to skip the stupid songs on my iPod when I'm shuffling, that way I don't accidently play them, and my passengers ask 'WTF?'

Of course, now that I thought about it, you way is easier.

In case you wanna know, however, here you go:

        -Right-click on the song
-Go to the options tab in that window.
        -Click "Skip when Shuffling"

Problem with that is, you gotta go through and do every song that way. Figured I would try to help anyways.

That way works if you like to listen to the Celine Dion, but you don't want that to pop up when riding with your friends.
But I really don't care. Yes, I listen to Celine Dion.
