Got off work a little earlier than usual, so I went to Jegs to fill my n2o bottle. (didn't happen, missing a gasket for the line fitting and the gauge was leaking a little, no big deal).
Anyway, I'm on i-70 westbound, getting ready to get on the ramp to I-270 south (done it countless times, my in-laws live nearby) I'm not even doing the speed limit because it's rained and I'm being careful as always. I tap the brakes to slow for the ramp and the coupe kicks sideways and starts to slide. I ease off the brakes, she snaps back into line and I turn towards the ramp, feathering the brakes to slow some more when suddenly all four tires lose grip and I have no control over the car at all. I whip the wheel around trying to find some bite and nothing works, so I do the only thing I can; I check my mirrors and push her the rest of the way into the spin figuring that a quick rotating stop is better than a long drug out slide across the grass and possibly into oncoming traffic from the other ramp. I ended up with the ass end down in the grass, the front tires on the inside of the ramp pavement and the coupe stalled out. (must have forgotten to push the clutch in in the funfest! )
Luckily, there wasn't anyone close enough to be involved (although the slow moron I had passed getting on 70 did look like he was laughing when he drove by me on the ramp), there wasn't any damage to the car at all, and I got her started up and back on the road.
The only thing I can figure is that it had rained enough to raise the oil on the road surface, but not enough to wash it away, and I came in a little hotter than I should have.
