small business in troube please read

this might be a repost, i dont care. i lived and worked within a mile of here, knew the owner and employees and i cant believe this shit. the owners of monster energy drink want to stop this small brewery (and i mean small, like the size of your high school gym) from marketing a beer called "the vermonster" this in no way threatens monster energy, its just a greedy ploy by a corporation.

a little off topic here but you from Vermont? anyways I think I know the place your talking about. but thats the way it is now-a-days Everybodys out to ruin the little guy's, I hope they can prevail but the way things are right now its gonna be tough.

What if the company magically becomes huge and the vermonster is their staple drink. Then Monster would be so out of luck... so it's better to say something now. If it in fact doesn't matter then they shouldn't be able to legally win. It sucks, but you just have to do what you can and buy local. It's up to consumers really...

I drink a Monster every day.

        Not anymore.

Where can I get a case of Vermonster? I'm going to go to my local liquor stores and request this guy's products.

Monster can go to hell. This really makes me angry.

He's not using the name "Monster". He's not using anything similar to their logo. He's not marketing a competing beverage (it's a beer, not an energy drink).

I also used to spend a good amount of money on Monster working long hours and hell, just to buy it for something to drink. They make enough money that they don't need to be doing stuff like this. They're trying to be clever with the name and help their product sell, not put Monster out of business or copy anything.

Yeah, Rock Art is in no way trying to use Monster's popularity to market their beer. It's not purely called "monster". The label is not similar in any way. The logo is not similar in any way. A beer for 21+ consumers and an "all ages" energy drink do not occupy the same market segment.

I guess Monster Truck Racing has to change it's name too, huh? And Monster Cables can't continue making cables?

Watching that video was sad. He's been in business for that long and all of a sudden he's trying to infringe on Monster? I think he's been doing it long enough and been able to keep his business going and also growing that he doesn't need to do some stupid shit like what they are getting at. Plus he's from VERMONT lol. I know the names are close but come on people. Monster will end up winning though. Like he said, they plain and simple just have too much money to be able to go against them and have a fighting chance.

He should just change it to Vermontster. I see his point, though. It's the principle now...

I love that the lawyers emailed him, too. SO professional

I guess just because it's a drink with a similar name. God forbid someone else play in their sandbox and make a living.

Dammit... I want a Monster. Must. Fight. Craving.

I wish there was another brand that tasted as good! No Fear Sugar Fee is pretty damn good (the only sugar free I like), but they don't sell that at the store I like to go to.

I used to live off of Monster, coffee, and Red Bull. We'd work up to 18-20 hour shifts and I had an hour drive both ways to get to work and to go home. Plus I was the only one there at night running the docks so it got boring and I would be dozing off if I didn't keep some type of caffeine in me. The blue one that Rock Star makes used to be alright. It's berry something I think. I can't remember.

I'll have to give that one a shot. I don't even feel those drinks anymore. I feel coffee, but not the energy drinks. Go figure.

I was spending too much money on them and eventually just drank coffee and tried to start having better sleeping habbits instead of the 2-3 hours I would get if I was lucky. Someone else posted one on here before called "Moneyshot" lol. I don't know if it was any good though. I think they bought it because of the name. It's $48 a case. 2 bucks a piece isn't too bad considering the price of what most are going for. Then again I have no clue if they actually work. http://store.dirtyblondebrands.com/m...ergydrink.aspx

I think they're going to get an email from me.

And I'm going to see if any stores down here can carry Rock Art Brewery beers. Boycott the big guy, and help the little guy grow!

It's a shame... I'd gladly drink Monster AND support Rock Art... I wouldn't choose one over the other, because I don't EVER find myself trying to decide if I want an energy drink or a beer... If Monster wants to make a big deal out of it, though... They just forced me to choose. The beer.
