I took a new job last month after being out of work for over a year,the pay was good but it was a long drive 55miles each way.But yesterday I got off early to go to an interveiw for another welding job I applied for back in june,but instead this is what they interveiwed me for and I got it,starting at $25+ an hour,2 weeks vacation/1 week sick leave and paid holidays right from the start,I almost fainted,401k,full health benefits,uniforms.Anything/equipment I need for the BRAND NEW WELDING SHOP All I need to do is put in the request.Got my own office,with window,and computer,I still think I'm dreaming,

Position Summary:
Perform welding operations that result in precision, quality parts per schedule. Lead personal in charge of Welding and operating Equipment that perform a variety of processing operations. Responsible for leading operations such as welding, machining & painting in Department 650 Fabrication shop. Proper handling of discrepant material to ensure established requirements and standards are met. Responsible for Department 650 to maintain O.T.D, productivity, scrap rate and operating costs within budget. Make work assignments when needed in the Department to meet the customer’s needs internal or external. Promote a safe work environment. When Machine Shop Manager is off site will be responsible for the Department at that time.
Essential Functions:
· Produce quality, efficient, and consistent output within the cells
· 5S
· Tooling/Fixture design and creation
· Assist in the development and implementation of process certifications and adhere to process certifications once developed.
· Communicate with team members to ensure a clear understanding of the activities and/or problems occurring in the work areas
· Safety
· Follows policies and procedures
· Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
· High school diploma, GED or equivalent
· Technical/Vocation Ed preferred
· Minimum one (1) year welding experience, preferably in a industrial manufacturing operation
· OSHA approved certification in operation of material handling equipment
· Certification per American Welding Society Standards
· Some general machine shop knowledge
Competencies:
· 5S
· Proficient in the operation of all machines,tools and equipment required in the welding department.
· Interpret complicated blueprints and produce weldments to specifications.
· Proficient in heavey material handling techniques.
· Some knowlegde of machining processes
