    Devil

    Has anyone seen it yet?

I wont give away anything, and i hope no one else does either, but id like to say that if you're thinking about seeing it, do it.

As per usual, with M. Night Shyamalan, the climax has a twist but the ending was better than i had hoped for.

Now, it IS a movie about 5 people trapped in an elevator so, obviously, the majority of the movie is there but there's still a good amount of scenes outside the elevator and they help explain a few "outside" characters and situations.

It had me intrigued from the opening credits. The opening shots are excellent and the musical score was spot-on, i think, for this film.

Im sure there are "Professional" movie buffs out there who will say it was lacking, blah blah blah but me being your average, thrill-seeking movie-goer, i enjoyed it. I knew the premise, so obviously, i had an idea of what was going to happen but i was seriously blown away by the plot twists. M. Night Shyamalan once again twists the plot but manages to put it together rather nicely and pulls off an otherwise, unexpected, happy ending.

Shamalamadingdong has been producing nothing but fail lately... I had no intention of seeing this one for that very reason. Hell, I LOVED the Avatar cartoon (the Last Airbender... not dances with smurfs) and his movie version blew goats. It looked pretty, but half of the major names were mispronounced, the Japanese-inspired "Fire Nation" characters were all turned into Indians (though they retained their Japanese and Chinese sounding names...), and the storyline was rushed and soulless. After that atrocity, I don't think I can stomach anything else he poops out.

Well, i only paid $6 to see it. I paid more for my popcorn and drink than i did my ticket, lol.

I havent seen Airbender but of his other movies, this one was good. It actually had me creeped out for a bit. It was very suspenseful, but im like that, i like twists and things like that.

The last one I liked was the Village... and most people hated that. I liked the world he created. I wasn't all that disappointed by the transparency of the storyline (by the time he revealed the twist, most people had a hunch anyway.)

The only people I know that liked Airbender were people that never saw the cartoon... even then, it was a horribly disjointed movie. And how the hell do you mispronounce the names of major characters when they're already spoken for 3 seasons of a cartoon show? From a book, I would understand... but they've already established how the names are to be said!

The funny thing about movies is that the price of the ticket basically goes to pay for the lease of the film itself. The majority of the theater's income comes from the concession stand.

In all honesty, it wasnt THAT scary. The end bit when you find out who the devil is a little scary but its really not that scary. Not tha gorey either.

If you're a "believer" then youll like the ending.

I was a big fan of the Cartoon the last air ender as well. Heard terrible things about the movie, went to see it anyway. What harm could it do? I already liked the story line so I may have a higher tolerance to the movie quality if I go in with a biased opinion?

Never have I felt the urge to flip a table so much in my life, M. Night shyamalan totally bombed that movie.

I'll catch Devil, but not in theatre's.

I'm really excited about Paranormal activity 2 and the new Tron: Legacy movie.

Especially Katie Featherston... Mhmmm... dat ass.

                    =p
