You say that until you try a different rom, trust me lol. I ran the stock rom for about 5 months and now I use Myn's RLS5 rom and used RLS4 before that, both are sense based roms and both ran smoother then the stock rom on my Evo. I'm able to get 25-30+ hours of battery with my rom and kernel. There's so many things you can change from battery icons, to dialers, launchers, app drawers, pull downs, etc.

Cliff notes= Faster phone, with a lot better battery and you can make every little detail look however you want

I think my phone will be rooted by the end of next week, might just do it this weekend

If anyone runs into snags or just has a question you can ask me...I rooted my old mytouch 3g and had well over 30 different roms on it....I soft bricked the phone and brought it back from the dead so I've seen a lot of shit.

If your going to root unlockr is good and so is xda developers.

THIS. Exactly this. This is the reason, well, one of many reasons why, I want to root my phone. Better/longer battery life. Mine will last me12-14 hours, if i do little-to-no talking/texting, keep the backlight down and no vibration.

Ralphie, I tried following 2 different videos from Unlockr on how to Root my phone and I failed at both. Things that were supposed to pop-up, didnt and things didnt say the right stuff and I ended up getting frustrated and said fuck it. I have unrevoked on my computer now, though, lol. I'll try the above link(s) and if I still run into any snags, Ill give you a holler, lol.

That other version of ShootMe is called PicMe.

It, too, only supports rooted devices. At least thats the message I keep getting...

The forum setup is similiar to Cb7.

I can help but trust me it is easier if you read and LEARN.

I know it is time consuming and you just want the phone to be rooted but since im not standing beside you itll be hard to explain to you what you need to do and id be writing it for no reason as it is already written.

When your on that page if you go back to the main section you can find your phone if you scroll down and then itll have 4 or 5 sections dedicated to your phone...trust me it is the same as over here....ANYTHING you need is on their...im on their as well i think under the name 1993Cb7....ive been over their for a while and it is a great forum.

Any phone with Android or Windows is on that forum and there is usually someone who is working towards rooting or unlocking the device.

They had the Mytouch 3G slide unlocked within a week of it being released.

A lot of good info over their.

PLuS, if you sit and read..when you eventually learn it it will become second nature and any future device will be easier to do since youll know the basics.

Being a moto droid user for over a year I've been through my share of roms and variants.. rooted with DroidMod the month I got it I have to say the process is so much easier now, with oneclickroot and ROM Manager.

Anyway here is my most recent Android variant. Liquid Frozen Yogurt 1.95 (Black Liquid theme) with custom DroidX boot screen, gingerbread additions and lots of tweaks. I love LauncherPro on the 2.2 slayher kernel, super snappy - and with window animations sped up the phone is 10x smoother to use.

Here's a pair of screenshots, I'm only running 2 homescreens with the right one being Home. 5x5 icon rows with no text and launcherpro's dock is unmatched in usefulness in reducing homescreen clutter. Using Switchpro for the toggle buttons, I really only wanted 7 switches but to get them to spread out evenly against the icons I had to go with 10. Oh well
