anyone playing or going to play NFS shift 2 unleashed?

i just started playing it last night. it is a very pretty looking game. although, so far, it doesnt seem too different from the first one.

my only concern is that from shift to dirt 2 to shift 2... and then the upcoming dirt 3... im not sure if my video card will be handling it very well. especially with dx11 enabled. and yes, it MUST be on max settings.

Will work for food, car parts, or three stripe apparel. And not necessarily in that order

      What card do you have?

I have a 9800 GTX+ and I can run almost all of my game at max settings (dirt 2, just cause 2, Fallout:NV, Shift, ect.) exception being Crysis.

I have a gtx560ti. It can run all my games at max settings @1080p, but ever since I saw the difference between my old card and this one, I have become a fps snob. I would like to stay above 60fps at all times. With dirt 2 I was getting 90+ fps. Now with shift2, I'm averaging 63fps.

I'm just assuming when dirt3 comes out, it's going to be much prettier thN dirt2. And with dx11, it'll probably be very graphically intensive.

Install fraps, what fps' are you getting?

Dirt 2 Average 43 FPS Max settings with some visual upgrade mod.
Shift Average 30 FPS Max settings
Just Cause 2 27-32 FPS Max settings

Not bad IMO for a 4 year old DX10 card with 512 MB vram. Definitely less then what you get, but the games are still very playable.

Don't have Shift 2, but I'd expect it to run pretty slow on mine. Probably 20-25 FPS range.

I want to upgrade, but one I don't have the money and two, cards move so fast. It seems they bring out a new $600 card every two weeks. I've been looking at the GTX 460 and 560, they are down to around $200-$250 now.

I think you should be able to handle Dirt 3 just fine. With visual upgrades comes better performance optimizations. If performance does become an issue, you could just drop another 560ti in there and run SLI (If your mobo supports it) that should keep you above 60 fps in almost anything I think.

Those are damn impressive numbers. My gtx260 couldn't even get those in dirt2.

Can't wait until work is over so I can go home tonight and drink and drive.(shift 2 and a beer that is)

i've got the first shift for ps3 and the cars handle like ass. not interested in 2. still need the new pursuit though, the demo was fun, but still enjoying tdu2 and gt5 to give it time.
