your friend is probably not successful...
ask anybody who accomplished something extraordinary in life, and 99% of the time they will tell you that they did so by writing "To Do" lists
I typically try to write a to do list for every single day. you would be surprised how much you can accomplish by doing that.... when you get into a habit of doing this, all of a sudden, all those things that you couldn't get to in years start getting done!
I also keep a Master To Do spreadsheet which is very complicated to explain in one post. lol
There are good "personality tests" but NOT the ones that just tell you what type of person you are (what you are already knew), but personality tests that make you think about what you values are and how you should prioritize them in order to be satisfied with your life. These types of tests lead to LISTS. Once again, lists of your values(which you should reevaluate yearly by the way) lists of things you want to accomplish in one year, in two years, five years, HOW you are going to accomplish those things, and what should be on your daily To Do lists to be able to accomplish them in the timeframe you chose.
So I personally think writing ANY list is the first step to success in anything you want to do.

I'm all about using lists. However, recently I have begun to rely more on my google calendar to keep up with recurring events, or things that have set times. It's much easier for me to program in something to the calendar and get automatic reminders about events rather than have to keep them listed and keep up with that list.
